CON-A Builds a Biofuel Factory for Clariant

CONA is the general contractor building one of the largest industrial investments currently underway in Romania. It is a factory for advanced biofuels from agricultural residues, a greenfield investment made by the Swiss chemicals company Clariant in Podari, Dolj County. “The factory we are building for Clariant is quite special. First of all, it is a very complex project from a technical standpoint: 34 buildings that encompass all types of structures, over 50,000 cubic meters of concrete, and more than 6,000 tons of steel. As for the execution method of the works, they are carried out in parallel with the installation of the technological equipment, resulting in a turnkey project, ready for operation. The project is also special because it is carried out under exceptional conditions, generated by the current COVID pandemic. Rules are strictly followed by hundreds of people simultaneously on the site, so that we deliver the project on time for the beneficiary to start production, and at the same time to ensure the safety of the involved personnel,” stated Mircea Bulboacă, the owner of the CONA Group.
