The building on Republicii Street No. 8 is a landmark in the center of Cluj and has long served as a reference point for the area known as the “Student Polyclinic.” In the past, the building was owned by the first mayor of Cluj after 1918 and later became a clinic for students.

The work on the property at Republicii Street No. 8 aimed to strengthen the structure and bring it up to current standards while respecting its historical character and preserving, as much as possible, its original appearance, including the decorative elements. Even the existing wooden carpentry was restored and reinstalled, with only the glass being replaced with double glazing to increase energy efficiency.

The building’s area has expanded from 1,200 sqm to 2,000 sqm by utilizing the existing attic, where the current mansard roof was built, by extending the building towards the courtyard where a circulation hall was created, and by constructing a two-level automated underground parking garage.
